I think the reason why we collectively dish out so much money on weddings is because they are the most incredible opportunity to pull all of our creative energy and resources together into the ultimate celebration of who we are, our stories thus far, and where we hope to go. You have a new love to celebrate, and the start of a new family! It's a HUGE deal. Everyone you know and love will be there. This isn't just about celebrating your union, it's about celebrating who you both are, and the beauty that will continue to come into the world as a result of your love.

Weddings are notorious for the drama they cultivate. And stress. The couples I work with make it their top priority to make their wedding about them- what do they want to feel and experience to celebrate their love? Everything supports that vision. That's why the weddings I shoot are usually a little more intimate, and the couples are usually less obsessed about passing details and more focused on savoring the experience.
Harmony is a team effort though, and requires that even your vendors (hi that's me) understand your priorities and will support them 100%. I've never had any problems with the couples I work with. Never had a bad experience. Part of that is because I work with AWESOME people. Part of it is because I also bend over backwards to set all of us up for the best experience possible and help couples do the same.

Getting married is the very definition of an adventure- a new chapter of life with a new person, with new clarity and new uncertainty for the future. What could be more exciting?
Nothing celebrates that adventure better than a wedding infused with adventure of its own kind. That's why I love destination weddings- whether it's celebrating across the ocean at a coastal villa or hosting your party at a hidden lodge in your favorite mountain range...the ways you can infuse adventure into your celebration are endless.
I am at my core an adventurous person. Trying new thing, being new places, meeting new people...this is what turns me on to being alive! I love supporting couples and logistically helping them focus their celebration on experiences that they will cherish forever.

Life is too short to take too seriously. All I want to do is laugh and have fun. Turns out you can do that quite a lot, even on the job! One of my strengths is my ability to help people relax around me, feel themselves, let loose, let go, and have a little more fun.
Playfulness is an energy, infused with a few of my really lame jokes. It's a state of mind! It's the inner child who feels safe enough to be goofy and weird, to smile with teeth and laugh with gusto. It's vulnerable-and it means you need people, including your photographer, to not only help you feel safe, but to accept you and join in the playfulness with you.
